In a context where Luxembourg companies must balance regulatory requirements, operational efficiency, and digital transformation, HR and accounting management tools play a key role. Among the most established local solutions, APSAL and GESALL.net, developed by Proximus NXT, stand out for their ability to support the evolution of these functions while simplifying users’ daily tasks.
To learn more about these two solutions and their tangible impact, I spoke with Delphine Darcourt, Sales Manager for APSAL-GESALL, and Marion Bettembourg, Commercial Delegate at Proximus NXT. Together, they shared their vision of pragmatic digitalization, focused on the needs of local companies and accounting firms

Can you introduce APSAL and GESALL, and explain how these software solutions address the current needs of HR and accounting functions in Luxembourg?

Delphine Darcourt: At Proximus NXT, we have developed two tools tailored to the Luxembourg context: APSAL for payroll management, and GESALL.net for accounting. APSAL enables organizations and accounting firms to efficiently handle all aspects of payroll processing, including generating payslips and submitting mandatory declarations to the Joint Social Security Center or the tax administration. It is an intuitive and user-friendly tool designed to reduce the administrative workload of payroll managers.

GESALL, on the other hand, is a robust accounting application covering the entire accounting cycle from journal entries to preparing financial statements while also offering advanced features such as automatic reconciliation, multi-file management, and financial analysis.

How important is adapting to legal requirements and new regulations in the development of these solutions?

Delphine Darcourt: It’s crucial. For APSAL, our development team is based in Bertrange, allowing us to respond quickly to legal changes and the specific requests of our clients. For example, we are currently working on APSAL NXT, a new version expected in 2026: accessible via a web browser, easier to deploy, with a modernized and more user-friendly interface.

For GESALL as well, adapting to Luxembourg accounting standards is at the heart of our approach. Specific modules are being developed to meet diverse needs: GESALL EASY for liberal professions and self-employed individuals, GESALL ODIT for accounting firms, GESALL PILOT for management indicators, and more.

Can you provide figures to illustrate the extent of APSAL’s usage?

Marion Bettembourg: Of course. APSAL now generates around 260,000 payslips per month in Luxembourg, representing more than half of the country’s employees. It serves a wide range of organizations, SMEs, accounting firms, public administrations, NGOs, and more. One of our client companies, for example, uses it to produce nearly 25,000 payslips each month.

How does GESALL stand out for organizations with complex needs?

Marion Bettembourg: GESALL stands out for its modularity and its ability to centralize financial management within multi-entity organizations. We have developed features such as digitization of accounting documents, automatic follow-up modules (like Boomerang), an integrated billing tool (GESALL Bill), as well as analytical and visualization modules to manage the organization using key performance indicators.

What impact do these solutions have on users’ daily work, regardless of their sector?

Marion Bettembourg: One of the major benefits is time savings, often up to 30%. Many administrative tasks are automated or simplified, freeing clients to focus on their core activities. We emphasize listening to users’ needs: whether it’s a private company, an NGO, a foundation, or a public institution, we adapt and configure the modules and even develop specific features when necessary.

To conclude, how do you see the evolution of HR and accounting roles in this context of digitalization?

Delphine Darcourt: HR and accounting roles are becoming increasingly strategic—compliance, agility, and efficiency have become imperatives. With APSAL and GESALL, we offer not just technical tools, but technological partnerships that enable organizations to transform: to be more responsive, less burdened by administrative tasks, and able to anticipate legal and economic changes. In my view, the future lies in solutions that are robust, scalable, and—most importantly—user-centered.
