Voyager Weekly: Stay Connected, Even on the Other Side of the World
Voyager Weekly allows users to call, browse, or text at a preferential rate, freeing them from the need to find Wi-Fi access just to communicate without increasing their bill.
“With Voyager Weekly, you avoid out-of-bundle charges and keep control of your communication budget when traveling outside Europe,” explains Fabien Loeuille. “The price is fixed for a given volume of communication over a maximum period of seven days. If your usage exceeds the allocated volume before the seven days are up, you still benefit from the lowest available rates.”
Fabien Loeuille continues: “You choose your pass based on your destinations and preferred communication types — data or voice and SMS. You decide whether you are traveling within the Top Zone, which covers the 30 most frequently visited countries for business travel, or worldwide. In that case, you select the World Zone package, which also includes the Top Zone.”
“With the data packs, you get 500MB of data valid for a seven-day stay, while with the Voice & SMS packs, you benefit from 150 calling minutes and 100 SMS.”
The pack is pre-activated before departure. It is automatically triggered as soon as the user crosses the European border and remains valid for up to seven days. “You can track your remaining usage at any time, and you are alerted when you reach 80% of your allowance,” explains Fabien Loeuille.
Users can also send an SMS at any time to check the status of their pack. If the bundle is exhausted before the end of the validity period, usage switches to a pay-as-you-go model billed per MB, minute, or SMS. For Voyager Weekly subscribers, these unit rates are significantly reduced. Once the validity period expires, users receive an SMS inviting them to renew their pack.
“Voyager Weekly also exists in a manual version,” adds Fabien Loeuille. “This version requires sending an SMS to activate the pack.” This option is particularly useful when users partially manage their own telecom expenses, for example during holidays outside Europe.
“Voyager Weekly addresses two major trends,” analyzes Fabien Loeuille. “First, many users previously did not have roaming-inclusive plans, which could lead to extremely high bills when traveling abroad. Second, mobile data consumption has been growing exponentially over the past three years and continues to increase by 30 to 40% on average per quarter, including in roaming. Voyager Weekly allows us to offer an attractive solution that meets these evolving needs.”
