Vermeg relies on Proximus NXT’s cloud

State-of-the-art technology with the right long-term partner

Following the discontinuation of its previous provider’s services, the company had to find a new partner. “For us, this change represented an opportunity to reshape our SaaS platform, with the aim of leveraging the latest technological developments in infrastructure management and offering greater flexibility to our customers,” explains Frédéric Arman, Delivery Manager Wealth & Asset Management Benelux at VERMEG. “While we wanted to make significant changes as part of this transformation, the migration of our customer base nevertheless had to be completed within less than two years.”

Successfully carrying out such a project in a highly regulated industry was a real challenge. VERMEG needed to find a partner that could not only provide all the necessary compliance guarantees to satisfy financial-sector regulators, but was also sufficiently robust to convince customers of the benefits of this transformation. The partner selected by VERMEG also had to complement its application solutions by meeting its customers’ specific requirements in terms of security and connectivity.

We were able to delegate the operation of our database middleware to its teams,” explains Frédéric Arman. “We found a partner that can support our long-term growth thanks to the flexibility of its U-flex technology offering, which makes it possible to combine on-premises hosting components with public cloud. Each customer benefits from the advantages of resource sharing while also enjoying a high degree of scalability in the resources they use. This gives us the best ‘cost-effectiveness’ ratio.”

Building customer trust

To carry out the migration, VERMEG first had to gain its customers’ confidence in Proximus NXT’s ability to guarantee the required level of service, the security of their data, and the availability of SaaS applications delivered from the infrastructure. As part of this migration and for the deployment of new customers, Proximus NXT works closely with the VERMEG team to address customer concerns and provide the necessary assurances, including the ISO 27001 certification held by the operator.

“Today, our teams know each other well. This collaboration has enabled us to establish configuration templates that now allow us to onboard and integrate new customers in record time. From Luxembourg, we meet the expectations of our local customers, while also serving clients based abroad,” comments Anne Thiel, Regional Sales Executive at VERMEG.
