Let's IP together
Proximus NXT invites you to explore all the possibilities of Voice over IP
A new chapter is opening in the field of telecommunications. In the coming months, analog and ISDN* telephone connections, which currently support enterprise telephony services, will become obsolete. They will be replaced by connections based on digital telephony or SIP** telephony. These will provide broader access to Voice over IP (VoIP) technology. This transition is an opportunity for businesses of all sizes to explore the alternatives available on the market.
In Luxembourg, this inevitable change will take place in stages until 2024. In the coming months, each company will be informed by its operator about the end of availability of its current service and invited to switch to a new offer.
This transition should be seen as an opportunity to carefully consider the available offers in order to fully benefit from the possibilities offered by Voice over IP technology while ensuring cost-effective communications.
“While telephony is a basic and essential need, it is also a critical element for businesses. As companies are required to make changes, they can benefit from the guidance of a customer-focused operator such as Proximus NXT,” explains Hugues Stiernon, Head of Telecom Solutions at Proximus NXT. “By combining our expertise in fixed, mobile, and ICT communications, we can deliver a complete and tailor-made service. We assess each organization’s full communication needs. In this way, we ensure that companies remain reachable, facilitate exchanges with customers and suppliers, optimize costs, and guarantee seamless service for every user—whether in the office, on the move, or working remotely.”
Access New Features
To name just a few, one can mention fixed-mobile convergence, which allows a user to be reached on their mobile phone via their fixed number and vice versa. In a remote working context, such features are highly valued by companies and employees alike.
If a company operates a telephone switchboard, SIP connections provide a more granular and scalable number of communication channels. If the PBX system is nearing end of life, it may be appropriate to consider migrating it to the Proximus NXT cloud, enabling autonomous management through a simple web interface: adding or removing extensions, call forwarding, monitoring usage, and more.
“The transition from analog lines to digital technology is an opportunity to reassess needs and costs, and potentially initiate changes to gain new benefits,” says Hugues Stiernon. “In many cases, it will be possible to reduce telecommunications costs per employee. Thanks to the convergence of communication tools, users will be able to work efficiently using only their PC and smartphone.”
