Parking network specialist Indigo Park Luxembourg has chosen Proximus NXT to deploy its new unified collaboration platform. A high level of expertise, strong integration capabilities, a security-focused culture and change management: this combination of success factors convinced Indigo to turn to the leader in converged ICT and telecom services in Luxembourg.

“We were looking for a technology partner capable of replacing our fixed-line telephony system with a Voice over IP solution combined with a unified collaboration platform,” explains Jonathan Da Silva, Director of Human Resources and Communications at Indigo Park Luxembourg. “Our goal,” he adds, “was to be able to make phone calls from a computer to the national and international public telephone network, as well as within the company. We did not have the necessary in-house expertise to carry out this type of project.”

A demanding set of requirements

Indigo Luxembourg’s specifications required the new solution to be based either on Skype for Business or Microsoft Teams, as the Group headquarters had already migrated to a hybrid Skype for Business solution integrating IT equipment, mobile telephony and fixed-line telephony. “Neither our long-standing fixed-line telephony partner nor the other providers we contacted were able to offer an integrated solution on either of these platforms,” explains Jonathan Da Silva. “However, we had maintained a relationship of trust with Tango for several years in managing our fleet of mobile devices. This gave us the opportunity to discover the full range of services offered by Proximus NXT, particularly its ability to integrate the IT and telephony components of a solution based on the Microsoft Teams platform,” he adds.

To adequately address Indigo’s needs, Proximus NXT designed an integrated collaboration platform based on a methodological approach stemming from the telecom operator culture of Proximus Luxembourg, the parent company of Proximus NXT and Tango. To align the platform’s functionalities with the customer’s expectations, Proximus NXT specialists developed a test book—a roadmap validated by both parties, listing all the expected functionalities and outcomes—and established a project governance structure tailored to Indigo’s specific context.

A high level of expertise

“Once the testing phase was completed, we were able to validate the solution quickly. From that point on, the implementation phase went perfectly smoothly,” confirms Jonathan Da Silva. “The solution is now deployed to all users,” he continues. “Some complexities that were not apparent during the initial analysis led to extensive discussions with the Group headquarters in France and with a specialized consultant in Canada. These discussions enabled Proximus NXT to demonstrate its high level of expertise,” emphasizes Indigo’s HR Director.

Indigo Park Luxembourg now has a solution that centralizes all the collaboration features it uses within a single tool. In addition to increased mobility for its employees, the company also benefits from the ability to share files securely with certain customers, including the City of Luxembourg. Proximus NXT also took responsibility for training users on the new platform, managing the change process and promoting best practices. The migration of Indigo Park Luxembourg’s Teams solution to the cloud was scheduled for the end of 2020.

A laboratory for the Indigo Park Group

“After more than a year of research, we found in Proximus NXT a partner capable of addressing a highly specific challenge,” says Jonathan Da Silva. “Indigo Park Luxembourg is the first entity in the Group to have implemented Teams as a calling interface, while France and Canada deployed Skype. Indigo Park Luxembourg is indeed the Group’s laboratory for many innovations before they are rolled out globally. Following the successful implementation in Luxembourg, the Indigo Group entities in France, Belgium, Spain and Canada are seriously considering migrating to Microsoft Teams,” he concludes.
