Balancing the need to be prepared for potential cyberattacks, to protect their data sustainably, and to place Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the core of their solutions, companies must demonstrate flexibility—and sometimes even creativity—to meet new IT challenges. AI, which has been growing rapidly over the past few years, increasingly impacts our daily lives, often without us even realizing it. Numerous solutions are now being developed using this technology, but why is it so important to include AI in a company’s strategic thinking?

AI: A Key Asset for Businesses

In an ultra-connected world, staying competitive in technology is critical. Artificial intelligence, although not entirely new, continues to expand its potential and has become almost essential for businesses. AI can help companies differentiate themselves, foster creativity, and remain agile.

At first glance, AI is often perceived as complex to understand or develop, which can discourage some companies. Yet, complexity is not always necessary. Models are conceptualized according to the client’s needs, and often the simplest solutions yield the most effective results—saving time and resources in the process.

Entering a New Era

In 2023, AI is taking a new turn: it is no longer just about saving time or resources. In some cases, it becomes a service in its own right, offered directly by businesses. AI can also significantly enhance the customer experience. Ensuring a seamless, enjoyable, and flawless experience is essential, and AI can help by providing personalized, comprehensive solutions tailored to the client’s needs. By analyzing data, AI can anticipate customer preferences and behaviors, creating a nearly effortless purchasing experience.

Beyond being a tool for accessing information, AI is increasingly seen as a mainstream technology. More and more companies aim to offer AI-based services while using this technology ethically, sustainably, and inclusively.

AI is dramatically transforming how businesses operate, reaching new heights this year, especially with the rise of generative AI. This new generation of innovation allows companies to remain competitive by creating original content based on existing data. Generative AI has the potential to boost productivity, reduce costs, and open up new business opportunities. These AI tools can now generate images, text, videos, and sounds with remarkable—sometimes even fascinating—realism. Today, a computer can produce advertising content, 4K videos, or unique works of art as competently as a human.

Until recently, AI accessible to the general public was limited. This is changing with the rise of Generative AI. A prime example is the democratization of ChatGPT. Powered by advanced AI, it can deliver structured, comprehensive responses tailored to the user’s query. Its unique feature? Anyone can try it. Generative AI is revolutionizing the professional world, and all businesses—including the tech giants—are adopting it to make new technologies more accessible.

Microsoft recently announced a partnership with OpenAI, unveiling a new version of the Bing search engine enhanced with AI “more powerful” than ChatGPT. Queries can be longer, responses more relevant, and the browser itself more interactive, combining multiple results into a single answer. Users can also ask the AI to perform specific tasks, like writing a text or helping plan a trip. Meanwhile, Google continues to place AI at the heart of its innovations, with its Bard AI competing with ChatGPT, aiming for more sustainable AI solutions, including augmented reality features in apps like Google Maps. Apple is also joining the race, soon launching “Apple AI.”

These digital giants are gradually proving that placing AI at the core of IT strategy is essential for the year ahead. Companies need to challenge existing processes while remaining aware of the potential pitfalls of this seemingly straightforward technology.
